What is MLB Rivalry Watch?
Rivalry Watch compares two rival teams across the metrics that matter most for understanding a season: current projected win pace, wins gained or lost vs last year, last 10 record, and payroll efficiency. It answers the question fans argue about — not who won last night, but which team is actually tracking better across a full season.
Every rivalry page updates automatically after every completed game using the MLB Stats API.
How does Track The Season compare rival teams?
For each rivalry comparison, Track The Season calculates:
- Current record and 162-game win pace for each team
- Delta vs last season — wins ahead or behind last year at the same games-played point
- Pace gap — difference in projected wins between the two teams
- Last 10 and Last 20 records — recent momentum for each team
- Payroll efficiency — cost per projected win for each team
- Bragging rights — which team leads in each category
